Alston Industries at 2024's First Lucas Forum and State of the Community Luncheon

Brunswick, GA – Alston Industries was honored to attend back-to-back events both focused on moving the needle for local economic development. The day began with AJ Alston in attendance at SchroGlo Community Restaurant & Bar for the first Lucas Forum session of the year (formerly 1 Million Cups) hosted by the Lucas Center for Entrepreneurship. Featured speakers included Santoria Axson, owner of Pearls of LaShelle, and Laura Khurana, founding member of A Better Glynn and currently running for an seat on the Glynn County Board of Commissioners.

Afterward, Alston attended the 2024 State of the Community Luncheon, hosted by the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce with Alston Industries serving as a second-year sponsor. The event brought together community leaders, business owners, and local government representatives to discuss the overall direction of the Golden Isles in the upcoming fiscal year.

Held at Marshes of Glynn Library and catered by Chick-fil-A, the luncheon featured insightful discussions on economic growth, infrastructure improvements, and community development. With the support of prominent local businesses like Alston Industries, the Chamber continues to foster dialogue and collaboration that drive progress across the region. Attendees heard updates from Mayor Cosby Johnson and City Manager Regina McDuffie, among others, on budgets, initiatives, and plans for growth.
