Alston Industries Attends Fearless Fundraising Event Hosted by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger

Brunswick, GA – It was a true pleasure to participate in the Fearless Fundraising for Small Businesses FIN FIT (Financially Fit) event, hosted by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in partnership with the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and the Lucas Center for Entrepreneurship. The event, focused on empowering Georgia’s small businesses, provided invaluable insights into raising capital fearlessly, managing investor relationships, and preparing for sustained success.

Entrepreneurs from the community and around the US spoke about how to prepare for investment, the different types of capital, and how to get creative with growth funding exploring examples like acquisition with seller financing, and more.

As a proud member of the local entrepreneurial community, I was excited to see so many members from Chief Collective of Coastal Georgia and interact with local leaders at this small business event. Secretary Raffensperger's dedication to providing practical tools for business owners truly resonated, especially during the Fearless Fundraising for Small Business panel and hands-on workshop.

The event covered crucial topics such as the Invest Georgia Exemption (IGE), which is an essential resource for Georgia entrepreneurs seeking to raise capital to either launch new ventures or scale existing ones. The panel also shared expert advice on how to develop strong fundraising goals, prepare a comprehensive fundraising package, and make well-informed decisions before taking on investors. Some familiar faces on the panel included Ande Noktes, executive director of the Lucas Center for Entrepreneurship at the College of Coastal Georgia, and Pryce May, founder and executive director of Golden Isles Film Festival, Inc.
