Brunswick, GA – Alston Industries' founding partners were honored to attend their first Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce Gala this June. This annual event brings together local leaders, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders, celebrating excellence and success in the Golden Isles business community.
The gala, held at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, was a night filled with inspiration and community. Among the highlights was the presentation of the Small Business of the Year Award, which went to Donte Habersham, local serial entrepreneur and owner of Mr. Shuck's Seafood and Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon. The team found Donte’s acceptance speech to be especially powerful, as he detailed the business journey, the support he has received, and how it is impacting the community.
“We were inspired by Habersham Laron Donte’s speech.” said AJ Alston, Founding Partner of Alston Industries. “The Small Business of the Year Award was well-deserved, and hearing his story gave us new energy and focus to further our own work at Alston Industries.”
As a young and growing company in Brunswick, attending the Chamber Gala marked an important milestone for Alston Industries. The event provided an opportunity for the team to meet and learn more about key leaders and insights in the area, as well as the future of small business in the Golden Isles region.
Another standout of the evening was the review of the chamber's Book Space Project and seeing the real-life results of all the hardworking volunteers who came together to impact literacy for kids in our very own community.
“We not only enjoyed celebrating other local businesses, but we really enjoyed the food. There is so much talent across every industry here” shared AJ Alston.
